About This

• Carbon wrap over a 5 micron sediment core, which reduces chlorine, bad tastes and smells while also capturing sand, dirt and rust in cold water. A replacement for AO-WH-PRE-RCP2 and AO-WH-PRE-RC2 cartridges. Four in the box covers a year at a quarterly change.
• The construction is what makes this different from a plain sediment cartridge. A layer of carbon wraps the outside of a spun sediment core, so water passes through the carbon first and then the sediment media. You get taste and odor reduction plus particle capture from one cartridge, in a single stage housing where there is no room for two.
• Fits AO-WH-PRE, AO-WH-PREV, WHKF-DWHV, WHKF-DWH, GXWH04F and GXWH20S systems, and most other housings taking a standard 10 by 2.5 inch cartridge. If the one you are pulling out measures that, this fits regardless of the name on the housing.
• One cartridge doing both jobs is the practical answer for a single stage housing. There is no second sump to plumb in, no extra fitting to buy and no additional pressure drop from running two cartridges in series, and you still get chlorine taste and odor reduction alongside the sediment capture.
• Change it on a schedule rather than waiting for a sign, because the two halves fail differently. The sediment core warns you by dropping your water pressure; the carbon wrap gives no warning and simply stops reducing taste and odor. Typically every three to six months. CFS is an independent brand, a compatible replacement and not an OEM part.
